Stephen Harper hasn't held a real job. He went from university to lobbyist to party leader to opposition leader to Prime Minister. Our Prime Minister has been in an echo chamber for his whole adult life. It comes as no surprise then that he recently admitted that he doesn't watch Canadian news.Prime Minister Harper can't take criticism. He doesn't listen to other MPs, the Opposition or the Canadian people. Why are people shocked that Mr. Harper can't take criticism about his horrible mishandling of the economy or the isotope shortage he created coming from his television set? This does however explain why Prime Minister Harper barely does any interviews unless they are on FOX News, he wont watch them later so why bother?
Stephen Harper likes the United States of America, that is why he is emulating all of their 43rd President's policies.
If Michael Ignatieff said the same thing the CPC and the media would be all over it. There would be headlines questioning his patriotism and commitment to Canada.

Do you realize how petty you sound ?
Indeed, Ignatieff could never say the same thing without having his "real canadianism" questioned. I don't think that sounds petty at all - it's pretty rational.
Harper is too busy watching the mirror.
So what if he doesn't watch Canadian news? At least he's lived here his life - not like your American leader.

As a Canada with foreign grandparents I get offended every time someone says that about Mr. Ignatieff.
Your argument that "being in Canada is the only thing that makes you Canadian" is quite specious. Like many Canadians Mr. Ignatieff has lived and worked outside of Canada. Mr. Harper never left the country until he was Prime Minister which is why he has done such a terrible job in the realm of foreign policy.
Many Canadian Prime Ministers from the Fathers of Confederation to Lester B. Pearson lived outside of Canada.
As a Canadian Literature student I have read countless works by Canadians who were born elsewhere, or left Canada then returned or were new immigrants.
Whatever happened to Mr. Harper, your time is up?
It really doesn't matter what we or anyone for that matter says about Mr. Harper. He does not like negative criticism. Must have had a very unhappy time growing up. Poor man.
Unbelievable how a prime minister of a country can be so ignorant. It's just sad that he obviously doesn't give a rats ass about people and what they have to say.
