Surely the big tent of the toronto party can redeem these people.

I can agree with being disappointed in Keith Martin. Very much so. I'm from Victoria, and quite often see Keith at public events in nearby Esquimalt. I expected better from him to be honest. I would like to hear his reasoning on why he chose to vote the way he did.

I think you should mention Liberal Albina Guarnieri as well. She abstained from the vote, for whatever reason.

You have a link called "Liberals for Legalization" (of pot).

So why do you support something that the so-called police are so enthusiastic about?

Gun control is basically a means of criminalizing people who are politically on the right. Much the same way that anti-marijuana laws are used to punish a constituency on the left.

Want to brpaden the Liberal coalition? Advocate strongly that you're against gun control and for decriminalization of marijuana.

To Anon above: As soon as someone can point a bag of marijuana at your head and blow your face off with it your argument will make perfect sense.

By the way, Ignatieff once again let down the progressives in the party. Layton let his down as well but Ignatieff seems to keep doing it over and over and over ...

There is nothing wrong with MPs voting for what the people in thier riding want, thats the way it is supposed to be remember?

If you want to vote any way you want on an issue run as an independent. If you run under a party banner, however, you are elected for what that party stands for. The Liberal Party has always stood for gun control ... until Ignatieff decided that was an optional Liberal value.

Tell that to someone whose friend or family member has been killed in an auto accident because some dopehead was behind the wheel.

To Larry:

There are Zero reported cases of people getting in car accidents because of Cannabis.

Cannabis doesn't hurt anyone, it's not addictive.

There are many tragic alcohol related car accidents every year. That's why we regulate alcohol.

If more MPs voted for the people instead of the party marijuana would be legal.

Thats because when you hit something doing 10 kph it doesn't do much damage.

I think instead of singling out Keith Martin, perhaps you might want to discuss Wayne Easter.

He was a major player in the implimentation of the registry under Cretien and now he is voting to abolish it

Maybe that should tell you something.

To say Wayne Easter was a major player in implementation of the gun registry is a bit of stretch, unless you believe every Solicitor General automatically is a major player.

From Wayne Easter's website....

As Solicitor General, Wayne oversaw five agencies for the national security and public safety of Canadians – the Canadian Security Intelligence Service, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Correctional Services Canada, the National Parole Board and National Firearms Registry. As Solicitor General, Wayne also reached agreements with the Provinces and introduced legislation for a sex offender registry which became law in the next Parliament.

Care to eat your words now anony smacktard?
